about me

Mum / PhD in co-design and mental health / Doula.

Training

After studying design and using creativity to improve mental health for years, the British government funded my PhD. I researched how imagining and creating together can improve wellbeing, even in the presence of clinical mental health conditions. My postdoctoral research allowed me to work on European health projects, including emergency services and shared decision-making in hospital settings. My own journey toward motherhood led me to become particularly interested in maternal mental health. I trained as a doula with Debra Pascali Bonaro @orgasmicbirth and DONA international, although my most important learning came from being pregnant and giving birth to my daughter Deba.

Calling

I have always been very curious about the unknown, about what is different, and I have never stopped questioning things. When I was just 24, I went to India for three months to understand other ways of approaching health and illness. I attended the Maha Kumbh Mela, a religious festival that takes place every 120 years, and it was at another Hindu festival, the Ambubachi Mela, ten years later, where I became pregnant.

In Latvia, I had the opportunity to encounter dynamic meditations and tantra for the first time, practices that I have continued to deepen with other teachers in different parts of the world, such as Greece, Estonia, Spain, the Netherlands, and India.

My own experience of pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum reaffirmed my passion for supporting other women through this deeply vulnerable and, at the same time, powerful process.

All of this knowledge allows me to design tailored processes that integrate different sources of understanding.
